Creative production meets interactive technology
Molotov Cocktail makes films, live content, games, immersive experiences, digital twins and online platforms for brands and organisations. We bring creative direction and technical delivery together, shaping each project around its audience, purpose and real-world use.
Molotov is a South African creative production and technology company working across media, entertainment, business, education, culture and the built environment. Our practice grew from filmmaking, broadcast and brand communication into interactive production and emerging technology. Today, we connect story, image, space and software in work that can live on screen, at an event, inside a building or online.
We can take a brief from first conversation through concept, planning, production, testing and delivery. Depending on the project, we lead the full engagement or join an agency, institution or technical team as a focused production partner.
What we do
Video production
Brand films, commercials, corporate communication, documentaries, music videos and social content. From the first treatment to the final master, we shape the story and manage the production details that bring it to screen.
Turnkey video and broadcast production
We coordinate live and recorded productions from creative planning through crew and technical coordination, event capture, screen content, graphics, post-production and broadcast-ready delivery.
Game development
We create and produce interactive games for brands, education and visitor experiences. Content, game mechanics, visual assets and technical implementation are planned together so the experience makes sense for its players and setting.
Immersive experience development
We develop experiences for AR, VR and WebXR, and interactive installations that can respond to movement, sound or audience input. Each build is designed for the place, hardware and people it needs to serve.
Architectural visualisation
We turn design information into clear visual presentations, 3D walkthroughs and interactive views that help people understand a building or development before they visit it.
Digital twins
We create navigable digital representations of places and properties for remote exploration, presentation and engagement. The experience can connect spatial content with web, mobile or XR access.
Platform and SaaS development
We help shape and deliver web platforms, applications and SaaS products, from early product definition and interface design through feature development, integrations, testing and launch.
More ways we support a project
Our wider creative and technical services include brand identity, communication design, 2D and 3D asset creation, motion graphics, animation, visual effects, broadcast graphics, photography, web experiences and AI-assisted creative workflows.
Who we work with
We work with brands, agencies, public institutions, broadcasters, artists, event producers, educators, cultural organisations, architects, property developers and technology partners. Engagements can be direct, white-label or collaborative, with the team shaped to fit the project.
How we work
We begin by clarifying the audience, objective and practical constraints. Then we agree on the creative direction, technical approach, outputs, budget and schedule. During production or development, we keep approvals and tests tied to the agreed brief. At handover, the client receives the contracted files, assets or deployed experience with the information needed to use them.
Founder
Molotov was founded by Nic Roux, a filmmaker and creative technologist whose work connects directing and production with interactive media, spatial computing and digital product development. His experience spans music and broadcast culture, corporate communication, immersive installations, game production and emerging technology.
